Moominpappa at Sea

Synopsis

Moominpappa yearns to make a fresh start, to find a rocky island and lighthouse where he'll feel alert and important again. And so the Moomins set sail for a new home. Moominpappa's longed-for-island proves as mysterious and wild and he'd hoped. It even has a deserted lighthouse. But how is Moominmamma to grow her flowers and what could have happened to the last keeper of the lighthouse?

Summary

Chapter 1: Moominpappa's Departure

Moominpappa, longing for adventure, announces his departure to the Moomin family. He plans to sail away on his boat, Emman, leaving behind Snufkin and Hemulen to watch over Snorkmaiden and Moomintroll.

Chapter 4: The Mystical Creature

On the island, Moominpappa encounters a strange creature that transforms into various shapes. It swims alongside Emman, delighting Moominpappa with its playful antics.

Chapter 5: The Lonely Lighthouse Keeper

Moominpappa sails further and comes across a lonely lighthouse keeper named Rove. Rove has been stranded on the island for years, longing for companionship. Moominpappa befriends him and explores the lighthouse together.
