The Llama Llama Red Pajama Book and Plush- Llama Llama is a children’s book written by Anna Dewdney. The book follows young Llama Llama as he spends the night trying to fall asleep in his red pajamas. Throughout his night, he worries about monsters coming to take him away and his dada not returning until the morning.

In the first chapter, Llama Llama is ready for bed. He has his red pajama on and is snug in bed, yet he can’t seem to fall asleep. His anxiety is overflowing as he fears the monsters that might come to take him away in the night. His mother offers him hugs and reassurances, but this doesn’t seem to help him settle down. To combat his worries, his mama sings him a lullaby, which helps Llama Llama drift off to sleep.

The second chapter introduces Llama Llama’s best friend, Mama Llama. Mama Llama is always there to comfort and reassure him that he is safe, and her presence causes Llama Llama to feel safer throughout his night. He relies on her voice to help him relax and fall back to sleep in times of fear, and she stays with him until morning.

In the third chapter, Llama Llama’s father, Dada Llama, is introduced. He is away working and can't be there with Llama Llama during the night. The lack of his presence causes Llama Llama to worry that he won’t return until morning. His mama explains that Dada Llama is working hard to make a living and will come home soon. This reassures Llama Llama and helps him to relax.

The fourth chapter brings the story to its climax. As Llama Llama worries about his mothers comforting words not being enough, Dada Llama arrives back home. The sound of Llama Llama’s father entering the house fills him with joy, and he quickly jumps out of bed and into his Daddy’s arms. As they hug, Llama Llama gets a sense of security and comfort.

In the fifth and final chapter, Llama Llama and his Dada head back to bed and settle in for the night. All of his doubts and worries have been assuaged, and Llama Llama feels safe again. Dada Llama sings him a lullaby, and Llama Llama finally falls asleep peacefully.
