Summary

Chapter 1
Donut the Destroyer by Toni Morrison is a children's fantasy novel about Donut, a seemingly ordinary 12 year old girl who discovers she has special powers when a mysterious figure from the sky entrusts her with an ancient amulet. In the first chapter, Donut is on a family vacation to an island off the coast of Maine when she happens upon an ancient ruin, where she finds the amulet. As a result of touching the amulet, Donut is granted special powers that will help her save her island from an evil force. Donut quickly discovers that her newfound abilities have their own will and may be more powerful than she can control. With the help of her family and newfound allies, she embarks on a quest to save her home.

Chapter 2
In chapter two, Donut learns more about her unique powers, which includes the ability to transform into an eagle as she soars in the sky. As she continues to explore her full potential, Donut encounters a magical creature, a talking tree, who helps her understand more about the amulet and her mission. Donut soon discovers that the amulet gives her the ability to manipulate nature and move objects with her thoughts.

Chapter 3
In chapter three, Donut continues her journey as she confronts a large, menacing creature known as the Night Beast. Using her newfound powers, Donut is able to vanquish the beast with her lightning-speed reflexes and transformational abilities. With the help of her allies, Donut continues on her quest to find the source of the evil corrupting her island and save her home.

Chapter 4
In chapter four, Donut's journey leads her to an ancient ruin deep within the forest where she learns more about the mysterious amulet and her task of saving her island. While the amulet surely presents a great source of strength and power, it also brings with it a great challenge in the form of a dangerous creature known as the Shadow Dragon. With the help of her allies, Donut must bravely face the dragon in order to protect her island and its inhabitants.

Chapter 5
In the fifth and final chapter of Donut the Destroyer, Donut must exercise every bit of her newfound strength and courage in order to face the Shadow Dragon. With her brave courage and the help of her allies, Donut is able to finally overpower the dragon and save her island once and for all. In the end, Donut is able to keep her island safe and return the ancient amulet to its rightful place. With her courage and strength, she has proved to be a true hero.
