Chapter 1
101 Christmas Bums begins with an introduction to the main character, Patrick, who is on a mission to find 101 Christmas gifts for his unsuspecting family members. During the holiday season, Patrick works diligently to source out the perfect gifts while managing his work and social life. In this chapter, Patrick quickly learns to appreciate the true meaning of Christmas, which is giving with love and thought. To demonstrate this lesson, Patrick prepares a special Christmas dinner in an unexpected rainstorm for his family that was filled with laughter and joy.
Chapter 2
In the second chapter, Patrick continues to research the perfect gifts for his family and discover ideas from all sorts of places. He visits many stores, boutiques, and galleries to find the best items to surprise his loved ones. Patrick also visits online shops and assists with his family’s charity projects in order to get a better understanding of the Christmas holiday. In addition to learning more about what goes into holiday preparations, Patrick discovers his true feelings for a woman he has a crush on. This chapter highlights the fact that Christmas can bring forth a range of emotions, from happiness to sorrow.
Chapter 3
In the third chapter, Patrick quickly sets to work to make sure that all 101 Christmas gifts are complete and ready to be handed out. Despite his quick preparations, Patrick struggles to find the right present for his secret crush. He discovers a unique item that he believes perfectly reflects her personality, but the item is sold out everywhere. With a little bit of luck, Patrick is able to locate the item just in time to give it as a perfect gift. This chapter sheds light on the importance of never giving up in pursuit of one’s personal goals, no matter the obstacle.
Chapter 4
The fourth and final chapter sees Patrick handing out all 101 Christmas gifts to his family members. Patrick’s family is pleasantly surprised by each and every item and he is able to discover that giving can be a rewarding experience. To complete his Christmas mission, Patrick throws a magnificent dinner party for all of his family and friends. Patrick stands back and witnesses the joy shared throughout the room, thankful for all the moments shared. This chapter reminds readers to count their blessings and love the ones around them, as Christmas is a time to celebrate togetherness.
