Summary

The Wild Cards is an entertaining novel by author Sarah Jackson that follows three tweens, Maddie, Emma, and Beatriz, as they compete in an unusual scavenger hunt with million dollar rewards. The friends must compete against each other and other teams in order to reach their goal.

In Chapter One, Maddie receives a mysterious card inviting her to compete in the Wild Cards contest. The next day, Maddie and her friends go to the designated spot. Upon arriving they meet the man who sent the invitation - Mr. Becker - and he reveals to the girls that the contest is a game of strategy and deduction. The teams must complete a series of puzzles and problems in order to advance to the next round.

Chapter Two sees the trio form their team - The Fearsome Foursome - and with their newfound knowledge of the Wild Card contest, they prepare themselves for the difficult road that lies ahead. Along the way they encounter strange, dangerous clients, each with their own goals and reasons for winning.

In Chapter Three, The Fearsome Foursome battles competitors from all over the world in an effort to remain in the race. To aid in their success, Maddie and her friends use various strategies like finding valuable cards to use at convenient store and to redeem discount coupons. The team uses their limited resources to the best of their abilities.

Chapter Four involves the girls discovering that the prize money is not the only thing at stake - they are also in a race to solve a mystery that is connected to the Wild Card. The friends must find all the clues to lead them to the right conclusions. Each puzzle they solve brings them closer to the truth and their million dollar reward.

Chapter Five sees The Fearsome Foursome going up against their toughest opponents yet - the master team of the Wild Card game. In a desperate attempt to stay in the competition, Maddie and her friends make an audacious move that has the potential to win them the game but also put their lives in danger.

The Wild Cards reaches a climactic end in Chapter Six. The teams battle it out for the million dollar prize but only one can come out on top. The Fearsome Foursome's determination and strategy pays off and they emerge victorious from the game. After an incredible journey, they are finally rewarded with their prize.

The story of The Wild Cards is a great example of how perseverance, patience, and wit can be rewarded. Maddie and her friends' determination and strategy prove that with a little bit of determination and perseverance, even the most difficult tasks can be accomplished.
