SOHO HOUSE founder, NICK JONES:
'I've been astonished by the number of people who went out and bought Eat, Drink, Nap, which really set out to explain our founding principles. Since that was published, we've built Soho Farmhouse on 100 acres of Oxfordshire countryside, transformed a former belt factory in Chicago, reimagined a 140-year-old palazzo in Istanbul, restored the shell of a listed Georgian building in London's Soho and launched our own collection of homeware, called Soho Home.'

Summary

The book ‘Morning Noon Night’ is written by the Dutch author, Jan Teigeler. This picture book follows the well-crafted story of a young boy and his family who are spending an entire day in their hometown of Amsterdam. Through the illustrations by Marije Tolman, readers are transported to the streets of Amsterdam and its various activities.

Chapter One: Morning - This chapter starts the story of the day with the family and their morning routine. The young boy wakes up bright and early to the smell of breakfast cooking. He helps his dad bake pancakes, pulls on his shoes, and heads outside to explore the town. He sees the boats lining the canal, the morning fishermen selling their wares, and the bustling flower market. All of these morning activities set a cheerful tone for the rest of the day.

Chapter Two: Noon - After exploring in the morning, the young boy in the book is feeling quite hungry and decides to treat his family to a picnic lunch. Everyone grabs some delicious treats from the bakery and heads to the park to enjoy the sunny day. In the middle of the city, the boy and his family enjoy the natural beauty of the gardens and lake. They chat and eat, watching the other park visitors as they take time to relax in such a busy city.

Chapter Three: Night - After the bright and sunny day, the story comes to an end with a peaceful night. The young boy and his family watch the stars twinkling in the dark sky, and the soft lights curtains of the city. They take a leisurely stroll through the city and visit the cathedral, before saying goodbye and heading home. The story ends as the family gathers together in their cozy home, and the young boy reads a book in bed before drifting off to sleep.

This book is a wonderful portrait of life in Amsterdam from morning to night. Its vibrant illustrations bring the bustling city to life, while its story provides a slow and calming look at the beauty of this unique town. The book is a wonderful representation of a day spent in Amsterdam and encourages children to take time to explore and appreciate the little things around them.
