Chapter 1: The Bloody Battle on the Bridge
The chapter opens with the continuation of the fight between Jonathan Joestar and his former friend, Robert E.O. Speedwagon. However, when Bruford's honor is insulted by Dio, he turns against him and joins forces with Jonathan and Zeppeli.

In a fit of rage, Dio mercilessly attacks his own father, but is stopped by Jonathan. In a final act of redemption, Dario sacrifices himself to save Jonathan and his companions from Dio's wrath. With his father gone and his goals of world domination crumbling, Dio retreats and leaves Jonathan and his companions to continue their journey.
